Attend the Open Forge!

Learn how to forge something with your own two hands! Whether you are just looking for a fun experience or want to commit to the trade, we’ve got a Workshop, or a Challenge, or a Private Lesson just for you! 

If you are interested in knife making as a hobby it is important to know that forging a blade requires certain skills. Which is why if you are inexperienced, we do require you to start with Basic Blacksmithing 100 before diving into our Bladesmithing classes.

Our President, Rodger “Grizz” LaBrash, and our main instructor, Clayton Cowart, were both contestants on the epic show!

While a blade can be made in one class, there are skills that are helpful to learn before you try to dive right into forging, especially forging a blade! These skills will make a difference in the quality and outcome of your knife.

Basic Blacksmithing 100 is required to take any of our blade workshops.

DAMASCUS

Ignite your passion!

There are different steps involved in producing Damascus steel. It is because of this lengthy process that our traditional craftsmanship can guarantee that every billet is unique.

Classes are available in Basic, and Canister this season. Mosaic is also a class we offer that is not on the schedule this year but there is a waiting list for it if you are interested, just email our Assistant and let her know to add you to it.

COPPER

Explore the craft!

Copper is a soft metal and is easy to work with, which makes it a great choice whether you’re already a Blacksmith with extensive experience working with iron and steel, or even if you’re brand new when it comes to metal working. 

We offer classes in Raising, Chasing & Repousse, Mokume-gane, Foldforming & Patina, etc. There are none scheduled this season, but let our Assistant know if you’d like to be added to the waiting list.

WELDING & FABRICATION

Learn to weld!

Start your welding journey today with one of our professional Install Crew members! We offer classes in Mig, Tig, Stick, and Gas.

This season we have Mig Welding on the schedule. Please let our Assistant know if  you would like to be waitlisted for Tig, Stick, or Gas. Private lessons for welding are also available by request.
