Welcome to Utility Folder with Master Smith Rick Dunkerley!

This workshop will be held on January 13-16, 2023 from 7 AM to 3 PM with 1 hour break for Lunch. 

Experience required.

Work with Master Smith Rick Dunkerley to create a functional Utility Folder!
All materials will be provided to make a mono steel knife except for the scales – please bring those, whether it be wood, micarta, bone, etc.
If you would like to use damascus for your blade, please bring your own and request the final size from us so that it is prepped when you arrive.
There is a 2-payment option available for this class, pay half down to hold your spot, the other half will be due before start date of the class.

DRINK WATER THE NIGHT BEFORE AND DURING CLASS,
HYDRATION IS VERY IMPORTANT!

 

All materials and tools will be provided except for scales, please bring your own.
*Safety glasses, closed toed shoes, and non-synthetic clothing required. Bring a water bottle!*
Feel free to bring an apron, work gloves, a forging hammer, or tongs if you have them.

About Rick Dunkerley

 

Master Smith Rick Dunkerley began making stock removal knives in 1983 and moved to forging knives in 1992. He attained the American Bladesmith Society “Mastersmith” rating in 1997, and in 2002 was appointed to the Board of Directors. Working along with the other “Montana Boys”, he has been extremely influential to the makers of folding knives throughout the United States.

Rick Dunkerley’s knives have been featured in knife publications worldwide, including appearances on the covers of Blade and Knives Illustrated magazines. Rick specializes in one-of-a-kind damascus steel folders, sometimes with gold inlays and engraving, and the occasional fixed blade.
