If you are interested in taking one of our classes, we strongly suggest that you attend the Open Forge prior to taking your course. Come and meet the guys, take in the environment, get a feel for the metal and the heat, learn safety, etc.
* If you cannot make it to an Open Forge but are still interested in getting started, please check out our AirBnB option! This class caters to Beginners, as it teaches the basic skills you’ll need start forging on your own!

KNIFE GRINDING WORKSHOP

If you have been struggling with uneven grinds, off-set plunges, and walking edges; this is a class for you!
MOKUME GANE WORKSHOP
When: November 1-3, 2019
Instructed by Tedd McDonah, a master of his technique, mokume in fire!
This is a 3-day class with an in-depth emphasis on patterning.

Learn the very basics of forging a simple Damascus billet.
FOLD FORMING & PATINA WORKSHOP
When: January 17-19, 2019
Instructed by Pat Downing, one of the few experts in these techniques!
Pat will first teach fold forming, a process of transforming flat sheets of metal into three dimensional sculpture, and then how to use both grown and commercial patinas and combinations of patinas to create spectacular finishes on these fold formed pieces.

BASIC BLACKSMITHING WORKSHOP (Full)

Learn the basics of tapering, bending, and twisting as you create your very own steak turner or cheese slicer.

SURFACE GRINDER WORKSHOP
When: September 19, 2019
Practice precision surface grinding! If you have any Damascus billets or knife blanks that need to be ground, feel free to bring them with you! Materials will be provided for practice grinding.
CAMP KNIFE WORKSHOP (Full)
When: September 28-29, 2019
Learn how to forge and construct a knife under the instruction of Rodger “Grizz” LaBrash!
DAMASCUS KNIFE WORKSHOP
When: Part 1 – October 4, 2019
Part 2 – October 12-13, 2019
In this two part class you will learn how to forge a damascus billet and then forge that billet into a gorgeous knife, under the instruction of Rodger “Grizz” LaBrash.
* Advanced-level course.
WASABI CUPS & CHOPSTICKS WORKSHOP
When: Part 1 – October 24, 2019
Part 2 – November 14, 2019
Create and take home two chopsticks and a wasabi bowl!
When: November 8-11, 2019
Instructed by Bill Burke, this is a Liner Lock Folder Workshop.
* Mono steel will be provided – but if you want to use Damascus, it must be already forged, sized, & ready to start making the blade and fittings.
