Workshops and Classes
Join us on our open forge nights every other Wednesday from 5 pm – 8:30 pm. Most participants come in to use equipment normally unavailable to them. There’s always a lot going on. It’s $20 to particpate or just stop in to see what’s happening!

Damascus for Jewelry
When: February 19-20, 2019
This class will be on making Damascus at a beginning to intermediate level. We will explore the common patterns techniques as well as some mosaic patterns and how to apply them, specifically in the use of jewelry. Although this class is focused on jewelry, the techniques can be applied in other areas like knifemaking. Each student should come away with 2-3 finished billets that you can further refine on your own. You will learn how to prepare the material, several different patterns, the basics of grinding, etching the Damascus, and finishing.
Workshop with Jay Burnham Kidwell
When: November 10-11, 2018
We are still working out the details on this one but you won’t want to miss it! Spend the weekend with a master in metals. This class is sure to not disappoint! If you think you would be interested in the workshop, please contact us and you will be the first to know more details when we have them.
Knife Making for Beginners
When: October 27-28, 2018
Learn the basics of forging a knife under the instruction of Rodger LaBrash. You’ll go through the processes of forging, grinding, heat
One Day Damascus Workshop
When: November 24, 2018
8 am -1 pm
Learn the very basics of forging a simple Damascus billet. The workshop will be on a Saturday morning from 8 am -1 pm. The billets will be preassembled so we’ll be able to dive right into forging. All materials are included. Each class is limited to 6 students.
Basic Blacksmithing Workshop
When: December 29, 2018
In this class you will learn how to make a bbq steak turner. You will learn the basics of tapering, bending and twisting. If time allows, we will work on another small project. All materials and tools will be provided. Please bring safety glasses and work gloves if you have them. Closed toed shoes are required.
Belt Grinder Workshop
When: Ocotber 6-8, 2018
Build your own 2 x 72 belt grinder. Includes a stand, 2 HP motor with VFD, horizontal adjustability,
